Mid Coast TAAS logoHastings Neighbourhood Services is seeking suitably qualified and experienced person to join the Mid Coast Tenants Advice and Advocacy Service. Fixed Term 12 month contract. 30 hrs. per week, SCHADS award level 5.1. 

After initial period of training and induction an office base / work from home arrangement will be negotiated.

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Social Work or relevant field of study.
  • Demonstrated high level of teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients with complex needs.
  • Commitment to social justice.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to manage caseload.
  • Demonstrated advocacy skills.
  • Database and word-processing computer skills.
  • Research and report writing skills.
  • Class 1A Driver’s License, private vehicle 
  • Willingness to provide a Working with Children’s Clearance and Criminal History Clearance.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Understanding of or wiliness to learn Tenancy Law for NSW.
  2. Referral and networking skills.
  3. Knowledge of local issues and services.
  4. Experience in delivering community education and or groupwork.
  5. Experience in or knowledge of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
